Cops 4 Causes is an organization of police officers that are creating exciting events and engaging their community while raising funds and awareness for important causes. Cops4Causes achieves it's mission by bringing together musicians, artists, celebrities, law enforcement officers, civic leaders, financial benefactors, and members of the community. In the future Cops4Causes will broaden the scope of the organizations it benefits to include those who serve children and adults with cancer, TB, AIDS, Downs Syndrome, MS, and other life altering diseases.

Cops4Causes Executive Director, Christopher Landavazo, having lost his sister Monique, a child with special needs, took the opportunity to build on law enforcement’s long standing relationship to the Special Olympics by selecting Special Olympics Ventura County to be the recipient of the funds raised by this year’s event.

Special Olympics is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. Special Olympics offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in 26 Olympic-type summer and winter sports. There is no charge to participate in Special Olympics.

This year Cops 4 Causes will ensure that Special Olympics Ventura County will be able to continue to serve the families of special needs individuals, many of whom are financially challenged due to the high cost of caring for their loved one. For the first time in the organizations history, Special Olympics Ventura County will have a reserve fund that will provide for the organizations financial security and allow them to expand their services.
