Golden Ticket Program
Currently, there are thousands of children in Los Angeles County being served by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) who cannot safely live with their own families due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. These children need to be with a safe, stable, and loving family unit, be it temporarily or permanently.
Many of the children who are protected by DCFS are African-American or Latino. Many are part of a sibling group, and some have special medical, emotional, or educational needs. A recent report published by the UCLA William‘s Institute found that 1 in 5 foster youth identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, or Transgender (LGBT). Of the 76,000 youth currently in care in the state of California, over 40% of them reside in Los Angeles County.
They are all wonderful children who could thrive in a loving home.
Cops 4 Causes has heard the call and is launching a new partnership with foster youth programs, service providers and L.A. County theatersto support enrichment opportunities to experience the magic of liveword-classtheater.
The main focus of the “HERO” Youth program is to workwith the 1stResponder Community (Police / Firefighters / Active Duty Military / Veterans) to find homes for foster youth. Our Cops 4 CausesGolden Ticketprogram will provide monthly opportunities for foster youth, their foster/adoptive familiesand/or 1stResponder members to attend live theater productions and workshops from Los Angeles‘finest theaters.
