As the President and founder of Cops 4 Causes, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to become a champion of our cause.
Cops 4 Causes was founded in 2005 by police officers seeking to reach out to the community in an effort to raise money and awareness for programs offering services to children and adults with special needs. We also wanted the opportunity to interface with the people we protect and serve each day and afford them the opportunity to interact with police officers, in the spirit of giving, in hopes of fostering stronger community relationships. The need for rebuilding and restoring these connections has never been greater.
Since 2005 Cops 4 Causes has brought together musicians, artists, celebrities, members of law enforcement, and the community to produce benefit concerts and events to help raise funds for causes that impact our communities.
Because of law enforcement’s longstanding relationship with the Special Olympics and my family’s personal loss of my sister Monique, who was a special needs child, Special Olympics was chosen to be the recipients of the funds raised by Cops 4 Causes earlier efforts. In 2006 Cops 4 Causes hosted, “A Salute to Heroes” benefit concert with performances by County Recording Artist Deana Carter, Thunder Road, Crosby Loggins, and an appearance by Honorary Chairs Wendi McLendon Covey and Assembly Member Pedro Nava.
In 2007, Cops 4 Causes embarked on efforts, with great success, to become a stand-alone 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and expanded our mission to better serve 1st Responders and their family members with life-altering disabilities.
Over the course of the past 15 years, we have initiated programs like “The Fallen Heroes Fund” to assist law enforcement officers, firefighters, military members, and their families; the “Heroes Helping Heroes” program which seeks to unite our law enforcement family in support of our troops and last by not least our “Golden Ticket Program” to support foster youth.
I am most proud to be serving along-side the Board of Directors and our honorary spokesperson, Pauley Perrette. With their leadership and dedication to Cops 4 Causes and your support, I am confident in our ability to accomplish our mission and to restore law enforcement’s deep, meaningful, and impactful influence in the lives of those less fortunate.
I welcome you to join us and to commit to making a difference in 2021. Together we can rise to the challenges of COVID, and rebuilding trust while continuing to change the lives of others in need.
Thank you for your time, interest, and support!
Very Respectfully,
Sergeant Christopher T. Landavazo
Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department
